The integrated WWAN module makes the XMT 5/7 a location-independent communications terminal. The WWAN solution of the computer communicates with EDGE 2.5G/GSM quadband 850/900/1800/1900, reaching transmission rates of up to 237 kbps (downstream).
The SIM card slot is easy to reach during installation or in case of changes, so the card can be replaced quickly and easily.

Especially in existing WLAN installations, a diversity antenna supports communications quite well, since it is less sensitive to obstacles, such as interference from metal shelves, than conventional antennas. The DLoG diversity antenna offers true spatial diversity, that is, there are two antennas transmitting and receiving independently - although the antenna is integrated.

With the built-in GPS module, it is easy to use the XMT 5/7 to record and process positional data. That makes the XMT 5/7 the ideal robust terminal to support the work process in transport and logistics and freight handling.

The built-in CAN bus interface makes it possible to read and directly process field bus data. The XMT 5/7 supports the CAN 2.0A and CAN 2.0B identifier formats.
