Classification 5M3, 5M2 and 5M1

Mechanical environmental conditions for Advantech-DLoG industrial computers in the form of vibrations, impacts and blows are very wide ranging depending on the area of use. In order to offer the user a maximum degree of safety, DLoG subdivides all industrial terminals and associated supports into three use classes 5M3, 5M2 and 5M1 which refer to standards, earlier measurements and experience.

The following standards provide practical orientation:

• DIN EN 60721-3-5: 1998 Classification of Environmental Conditions, Part 3, Main Section 5: Use on and in land vehicles
• Military Standard MIL-STD 810F: 2000

For vehicles with spring suspension (such as vehicle cabs in a tractor) as well as stationary machines (such as machine tools), we recommend:

Advantech-DLoG industrial PCs and supports of class 5M2. They are suitable for use locations with vibrations of low energy content, and with impacts of high energy content as well as careful handling / transport.

 

Mounting bracket solution, 180° tilt range

For vehicles with very good spring suspension (such as the dashboard of a car) and quiet installation surfaces (such as a work table or wall), we recommend:

Advantech-DLoG terminals and supports of class 5M1. They are suitable for stationary use with vibrations of low energy content, and with impacts of average energy content as well as very careful handling / transport.
